question about labels

I doubt it is particularly old, however I have a kilt where the label has no CA number despite being made in Canada (was a CA number mandatory?). Also, the spelling for Acrylic is a little strange : AGRYLIC. Is there any historical reasoning behind this spelling?

I attached pictures of the label, I'm not well-versed, but I'm assuming #A-B-96 means it was made in 1996. However, I'm still curious as to why there is no CA number, or why acrylic is spelled "agrylic". It would make sense if it was made pre-CA numbers, but as I said, I doubt it's actually that old.
 
Google seems to indicate acrylic is sometimes spelled "agrylique" in French. And, of course, there are French-speaking areas of Canada. I think it's possible that when agrylique was translated to English, it was simply misspelled as agrylic. It's also possible that agrylique was also a misspelling.
I think your kilt is from the 1970s, there are only two care symbols.
If you google Barakett kilt, there are similar examples, claimed as 1970s.
I don't believe the #A-B-96 indicates 1996. The other examples mentioned have REG #A-B-96 on them, so it may very well be pre-CA numbers.
 
wow thank you for your answer! I'm actually from said french-speaking areas of canada, and I've never seen it spelled that way. That's really interesting! Perhaps it also might not be acrylic at all and a spelling of argyle?
