Dior dress I am looking for info on please

Hiya, my Brother’s wife found this dress in Liberty’s vintage designer studio. It’s Dior but the staff couldn’t give them any info on it. He asked me for help. I have trawled google for runway show and looked through books. However I haven’t come up with anything. The staff said they thought it was 1950’s but I think it looks to be more of a modern take on an older style, so maybe 1980-90’s I have tried to see if there are any archives online, but there is an archive show at the V &A so this distracts from searches. And this is when I found this site. Hoping for help from here.

If the skirt hem is original, I agree. But older dresses sometimes have been chopped.

That piece across the bust feels VERY 80s to me. I found this one on 1st Dibs in similar color and style aspects with the label. Also, I feel if 50s or 60s the tie would be larger or more dramatic (?)

It got damaged when removing so it’s being repaired, hence can’t get hold of any pics. He wanted to get info before a big spend. ;)
