Hi Ben, I am SO impressed!! And what a journey to get there- just like a 'real' costume gig form my experience, you found a great solution to every problem you encountered- bravo !.
You look great in it, I love the suitcase as well, and what dedication to work through the night to get that...
Oh my- these are just adorable!
I don't know much about these, I don't think they were as popular in Australia as the USA- but I know when I have seen these in the movies they are on cardigans with buttons as well .
HI Jen, with only a few buttons- yep I would go with a 'nightgown' or Negligee then, and 60's would be fine, or say late 60's -early 70's to cover yourself even.
Sorry to disagree Melanie- but I think its later myself- more late 60's, and if it buttons all the way through, would actually be a peignoir or a brunch coat.
Babydoll usually means much shorter, usually worn with matching bloomers, shorts or panties.
Its very pretty- love the colour!
:)
Hi Samoon, those pics help a lot. The lining and construction does look possibly 40's, so I am now in the camp with the rest of the team- that they could be 40's and altered later on

And they did have heavy wool in the 70's of course, I have...
HI Samoon,
The braces are wonderful and definitely vintage. Something about your trousers though is making me wonder.
The belt loops are not right at all, they shouldn't be there. I suspect your trousers are from a professional stage costume made in the 70's ( 70's does 40's for instance) . I...

Ben I agree with Joan- about 3 inches for the horseshoe patches.
And I would take a deep breath and just ( carefully) cut the fringing- it will hang better if it's not taped that's all- and look more like the real deal as well.:)
HI Ben- I love the Jacket, Hat and Boots- bravo!. The hat is worth the bucks- truly.
But I wouldn't be hot glue gunning those stars on- you are going to have to wash that shirt at some stage. If you cant sew at all sewingmachineemoti- I would consider maybe safety pinning them on from the...
