I agree with Nicole as well- and I would spend the money on the Fringed jacket- as that's the most important part of that look really- and find a less expensive shirt and boots to embellish.
Such a cool look- but such a brilliant but sad movie.
Hi Melanie- I don't mind at all ;)
My understanding has always been like you said- it is to state that they were 'costume' jewellery rather than precious jewellery
I have seen this loads of times on men's gilt accessories, so yes a 'Costume piece' rather than an expensive piece.
That's my...
I agree with Nicole that the opening should be at the front. All the references I have ever seen, and in exhibitions they have been worn that way. But I have never seen this flap before- I feel like it maybe is pushed through to the crutch or something.
I just need time to have a play with a...
Like this idea Melanie- but I am not sure there's enough fabric length for that flap to fold back up towards the front waist if that's what you are thinking?.
But if it just hangs at the back like a modesty flap- that would be pretty weird too wouldn't it. :puzzled:
This one is driving me...
Oh that's Great, yeah! if you can post more photos to help us figure this out- and Karin, Barbie may not be very true to life, but it would be worth a shot maybe , as apart from a teddy bear, I really don't have anything here in small scale to experiment with !.

Yep the 'sleeves' really look more like legs to me.
I would need to do up a wee mock version in paper to figure it out- but the 'neck' sure looks big enough to be a waist doesn't it!
Hi HauteCouture,
Can you please post your 3 x photos of the soles of the shoes again?. My apologies, but in editing the post to remove duplicate photos an error occurred.
Thanks

Hi Melanie, I have had many Telsada garments and have some of their bathers myself.
They were a UK manufacturer from the late 50's/early 60s to the mid 70s from what little I know. Based in Liverpool/Manchester I believe.
The bathers always had white cords.
:)
My Vote is also 40's, and possibly home sewn, or a cheaper model judging by the stitching quality on the neckline. Its acetate taffeta for sure in my opinion.
We have monthly '"send clothes to Africa collections'' here. They leave a large bin bag in our letterbox, and if you choose to assist- you just fill it with unwanted clothing and leave it on the kerb for collection.
