need help dating blouse (possible antique?)

Hi persephone60, I agree with 70's or very possibly even later. The lace looks nylon to me, and those plastic buttons are a give away as well. But as a reproduction, from the outside its a very good one, and very pretty!

    Need help dating this corset

Hi Rebecca, Thanks for the extra info and photos. Based on this I think you could go with late 1930s to mid 1940s with dating. The length from waist to hem is right for this period, prior to this corsets were designed to fit higher on the body towards the bust. Have you had a look at our...

    Need help dating this corset

HI Rebecca, thanks for the label pic- this looks more like 40s to me and the lining looks like cotton - but at the end of the day, forgive me but what decade was your mother born in ? . That will give you a guide to when she was wearing this corset. So if she was born in the 20's or 30s it would...

    Need help dating this corset

HI Rebecca. Can you post a photo of the label for us? that would help with the dating. At first look though, its likely to be 1950s or a little earlier.

    Checked day dress - 1940s?

I am seeing 70s 'does' 40s . Its seems odd that the belt is in the paler shade and doesn't have the same contrast fabric as the collar? The width and shape of the collar doesn't seem right for actual 40s. Is there a label?

    Mr John Jr fur cap

Hi Caryn, just to clarify re Australian Possums, they are rampant in urban housed neighbourhoods- often living in roofs. We had 2 species living in our roof until recently, ring tail at the front, brush tail at the back. I see them on a daily basis in my inner city backyard in trees and running...

    dyeing a vintage DuBarry

Hi Dale, Nicole has given you great advice, so the only other piece I can give you, is to reiterate that you should be very afraid of shrinkage when dying. Help Identifying Corset age and pricing

HI Molly, Its just unusual to have the elastic panel at the front- that is usually where you actually want the support and constriction to flatten the tummy. The side lacing is often found on maternity corsets. See the links below for examples that I found on pinterest.:)...
