OMG Karin- I now remember the skiing barbie- and I actually had that one !- but it certainly didn't survive into the 80s when I sold them all. I never had a skipper, I have no idea why.
Loving this thread :)
My parents were really straight and had no issues with the Barbie thing at all- guess she was a good role model for keeping women in their place in the 60's-70's :hysterical:
My mother made loads of Barbie clothes, she also made them to sell at church fund-raisers.I didn't get enough pocket...
Hey Lauren, its a gem of a swim suit- not a bullet bra, but the boobs are definitely ''out there"' perhaps you could use semi pointed cups to describe it? . Bubble is a great word for the shirred fabric :)
I love love this series- I still have the final episode to watch yet. I do think that Anne had an unfair advantage- I would have like her to have some tougher competition myself. The time lines are really intense - especially on a domestic sewing machine. And tell me- why aren't they over...

VINTAGE 1960s CUTE FLORAL COTTON SHIRRED...
yes Nicole, it must be a matching strap, but handles would be super cute instead I think, and perhaps a bit more user friendly :sunshine:
I am in love with this bag I think!
Linda that purse is adorable- I love it!
How Nicole explained it is exactly what I would have said, and its going to come down to your handles, so pop another photo up for us maybe!
I agree with Nicole and Hollis, that it is more likely to be 1940s. A 13 inch neck is very small, the average ladies neck is more usually 14 upwards, but on the very slim and fine boned or petite its not unknown. .
The yoke looks to deep to be a girls size in my opinion.
Oh I should have said-...
me too Sarah, and from watching episode one, I think they need to remove all the floral fabrics from the shelves. I really enjoyed it though, the time frames are really quite tight, especially on a domestic sewing machine.
