    House of Merivale Bridal Gown

Brilliant photo! It takes me back- I worked as a Junior machinist at a bridal Company in the 70's- they did very similar styles to House of Merivale, but the didn't have the cool factor like this gown.

Help creating "Captain Trips" Top Hat?

Sadly I don't think this paint is going to do it for you, but like Nicole I am not familiar with this particular product. I would go with Barbara's suggestion and try acrylic paints- I have used that on all sorts of costumes. The Jo Sonja Paints are especially good and in Australia are readily...

Help dating Lovedays Tap Pants (?)

Hi Lauren, these are very sweet. As they appear to be all nylon including the lace trim, I would be going mid to late 1950s. Lets see what the rest of the gang think as well :)

    Nylon lingerie 1960

Gees Nicole- that was a close call! That goodness my mother only believed in boring sensible cotton pajamas then ! I would love to have seen what condition all that glamorous nylon was in at the end of the original film shoot- all that smoking- there must have been holes in many of those items.

    Dating "Eatonia" girdle

Hi Lauren, and a nice find! I would estimate late 1940's into 1950's for this foundation garment judging by the hardware ,elastic insets and fabric. It would have been for a stout woman- the OS stamped at the hem likely means Oversized. The little structured inset at the front hem is for...

    Red knit undershorts -- 20s/30s?

Hi Donna, these are so cool. They could be for either sex, but I am thinking men's, as I am sure I have seen vintage men's all in ones in red before, that were 40's- 50's.
