Brilliant photo! It takes me back- I worked as a Junior machinist at a bridal Company in the 70's- they did very similar styles to House of Merivale, but the didn't have the cool factor like this gown.

The Ribbon band looks perfect! Yeah! Now yes its just the sewing it on and painting bit to sort out ;) Gees its a pity I am in another country- I would have happily helped out with this for you.

Hi Lauren, these are very sweet. As they appear to be all nylon including the lace trim, I would be going mid to late 1950s. Lets see what the rest of the gang think as well :)

Gees Nicole- that was a close call! That goodness my mother only believed in boring sensible cotton pajamas then ! I would love to have seen what condition all that glamorous nylon was in at the end of the original film shoot- all that smoking- there must have been holes in many of those items.

Hi Donna, these are so cool. They could be for either sex, but I am thinking men's, as I am sure I have seen vintage men's all in ones in red before, that were 40's- 50's.

I totally agree with Hollis Liza, Just buy a corset, its not worth trying t0 get anything made, just buy outright from James Townsend and Son and $120 is great for a corset, even a simple one , or etsy is full of these as well hello kitty emoti sewingmachineemoti
