how to get rid of mothball smell?

Hi Jenny, That mothball smell is mighty hard to remove. The only way I have ever managed it, is weeks of line drying outside in the fresh air, and even then traces may remain. I hope someone else will have a miracle solution for you :)

Looking for Clear Lens Fashion Eyeglasses

Hi Kevin, You could also look at buying true vintage frames rather than retro ones, and getting an optician to just fit clear lenses into them. I have often had this done for theatre shows. Just make sure the frame is in great condition and strong.

A house that has stood still since 1930s.

That is amazing, I wish I could visit it! I am so happy the National Trust have it- I bet they could make a lot of money from film and TV companies with that house!

    Vintage Clothing? Across the Pond?

Our dollar is appalling right now against the US dollar. But that doesn't seem to be stopping folks buying does it! I know someone that has worked on Miss Fishers Murder Mysteries. I think they actually do make quite a lot of her wardrobe, augmented with real vintage clothing and accessories.

    Vintage Clothing? Across the Pond?

It's interesting to see Brisbane ( my home town) on this list. This may be currently influenced by popular fashion magazines being published here, like 'Frankie" and 'Peppermint'. These are targeted at younger folk, mostly women, with a heavy etsy influence.

    Serged seams

Beautiful dress, and those serged seams look original to me. I have often used a fine serged edge on delicate fashion garments I have made and also theatre costumes- if you have the right machine you can get a very nice finish. My union special overlocker is very old, and a version of the same...
