Any possibility it could read Malahini?

I really can't make it out but this seems like a possibility.
Based on the fabric and the use of the zipper, I think your qipao or cheongsam is from the late 1940s. It looks homemade to me. We have discussed this topic a few times - and as Maggie mentioned they are hard to date, but there are some things that you can look at.
This is a previous...
It's not Trifari. You can see the Trifari crown in the middle of this late 1949 ad:
And a slightly earlier version on this pair of late 1930s earrings:
The stones in the brooch, while very nice quality and sparkly are not fine jewels - they are rhinestones - also called "glass" or "crystal". Cup is the correct word.
I suggest doing a search for Rhinestone history and you will see that simulated/imitation gem stones go back a very long way...
I have been looking at this brooch off and on since you posted it and am sorry but I do not recognize it. I don't think it is from the 1930s - the design and color combination, and combination of shapes of stones looks more 1950s to me. I don't think it is Czech - but of course it could be...
The Union label in the gown was used from 1974-1995:
https://vintagefashionguild.org/label-resource/union-label/
It's possible, since you say it was altered, that the metal zipper is a replacement, and whoever did the alterations used what they had available.
Welcome to our Forums, Abby. You might want to look through the Fur Resource on our website. It's not the same as actually handling the fur, but there is a lot of useful information:

You can also do a search for the furrier - the company was in...
Your dress looks like a '50s dress to me. It doesn't need a zipper since it buttons. The buttons look like Mother of Pearl. What is the length of the skirt?
Zippers were not common in women's clothing until the late 1930s and were then used again after WWII. (Zippers were not used during...

Unsigned potmetal enamaled 1930s brooch - one of my favorite pieces.
Actually,
Tahari started in 1974 - and so did the barcode! Is that a skirt, a skort or shorts on the hanger? I don't remember early - mid-'70s long coats and short skirts but that doesn't mean anything, and of course it could be more recent. Are there any more labels and/or a care...
IMO both the piece with the green stone and the purple stone are Arts & Crafts and the one with the blue stone is Edwardian - or as you suggest, it could be a bit later - early Art Deco which came right after Edwardian.
Art Nouveau is much more asymmetrical and floral and more "fluid."
I agree - they both look like mink to me, too.

Great coat! It looks mid-'60s to me. The article you posted says that one of the sons, Stanley, joined the tailoring business, so perhaps the Karlinda line lasted for a few years (or more) after his father's death (in 1963.). I just did a search and was surprised to learn that resealable...
I don't know who made it. You probably checked for tags and would have shown them if you'd found any. The coat looks
'60s. The fabric is matelasée - the fiber is looks like silk to me, but it could be a blend. It would have been worn with elbow length gloves.
Very pretty color and...
You have a lovely set made by DeLizza & Elster, sometimes referred to as "Juliana." D&E were the manufacturers. If you do a search for DeLizza & Elster or D&E or Julianna you will find many similar examples. Your "demi-parure" - necklace and earring set is late '50's - early '60s and has...
I can see why you love it! The Woolmark was first used in 1964:
https://vintagefashionguild.org/label-resource/woolmark/
I did a very very quick search for Bickler Made in England label and found a 1960s coat for sale that looks nothing like yours and a 1960s shift dress both hae the same...
I think you are correct in dating your dress to the 1970s. The Canadian ICLWU label in our Label Resource matches the one in your dress. Lovely dress!
https://vintagefashionguild.org/label-resource/union-label/
I think you are correct on 1980s for your evening dress. The label in your dress matches the one on the VFG's Label Resource for a garment from the 1980s:

I was thinking the same thing - that since it's an "adaptation" it have been made after Chanel closed. The label is very close to the 1920s label but it's also close - except for the color to the 1930s label so it could be very late '30s. I just read that Chanel closed her shop in 1939...
I own this white wicker handbag that has a "Made in Hong Kong" label in it. It is lined in plastic. I''m pretty sure it's is from the '50s. I bought it at an Collectible Show in Honolulu in 2009. I have done a few searches recently and read that even though we tend to think that "Made in...
