Happy Canada to my fellow Canuckians!
Gonna try and catch an outdoor concert at the Jazz Fest tonight.
Busy time here in Montreal, festivals galore and our traditional July 1st moving day - moving trucks EVERYWHERE!
Gotta love the hanging ornaments with little chickies...
Is this late 40s or 50s? It has a metal side zipper and cap sleeves and most likely would have had a self-covered belt.
Thanks!
Yes, great hat! And such a pretty dress!
Your website looks fabulous, Anne! You've been busy. I didn't realize it was you this last while - people change avatars and I get confused - lol.
:wow22:
Here's a 60s ski suit. Early? All metal zips, reversible jacket, knitted cuffs, stirrup pants do up at the side. Both sides of the jacket have a pocket zippered arm, do you know what that was used for? And the collar has a zippered compartment with a nylon hood - is that a good...
Fascinating!!! You have put so much thought work into this and I am so grateful - learning tons! Thank you!!!
Here's a picture of 2/3rds of a golf suit. Much different than the 1964 ad for clothes, but I think this one is from the early 60s too. The matching top is sleeveless with buttons...
My comment is - VERY cool dress!

Fabulous, Lizzie! This is so interesting.
I'm wondering when and why a play suit was developed - they often look like swim suits; so why not have a swim suit you could also play in?
I guess I needed company in going mad :D
Thanks for trying ladies!
A few years back after weeks of buying and low on $ I passed on an Adrian jacket for $9.99 because I couldn't read the name and didn't recognize the label :BAGUSE:
Even though this may not be any big name, it's a...
Speaking of butter, Quebec is the only place in the world where it is illegal (yes, illegal) to sell coloured margarine to look like butter.
I have to go to the dentist and will read more carefully and weigh in again later, but I think eBay was warned of sellers selling fakes in this instance...
English dandy label, sold in the US with a very French print in the fleur de lis pattern - it's so appropriate for the global market!
Satin brocade and the trim is done if faille, I think.
:hiya:
Not much info with a quick google, except one of his 50s girls dresses was (or is) featured in a museum: www.powerhousemuseum.com
