That is unusual. It’s certainly seems like an older Harrods label, and it’s not a label we have in the label resource. 30s or 40s seems likely to me too.
I do think this is probably meant as some kind overall for chores, rather than a blouse, because of the wrap front, ties and lack of any...
Interesting that it says worsted wool. I don’t think I’ve seen that with the woolmark before. It refers to how the wool fleece is prepared and spun into yarn - worsted spun as opposed to woollen spun.
Some UK insight.
Is the Debenhams label actually from the same garment? Because it says size 10 and the other label 12. It looks much more recent than the other labels. And a Debenhams / Windmoor collaboration seems a bit unlikely, although not impossible. The lining appears a different colour...
I’m not sure if these count as a fishtail waist but it’s similar. Fishtail waist is higher at the back and split like this, but usually more so than yours, and, crucially, have buttons at each point , and at the front, for attaching braces/suspenders. Maybe these are a later version when braces...
We had a long discussion about a coat with the same combination of royal warrants (it’s not exactly the same label though.)
It’s not entirely clear, but as you say it can’t be earlier than 1952 because of the Queen Mother warrant. That particular Prince of Wales warrant can’t have been used...
Could her garment be a coat? And she has something more formal underneath.
FWIW a Russian friend told me that fashion changed very slowly behind the Iron Curtain. Not sure how accurate that is.
Eg I think this one is quite good. Large size, hand rolled edge, quite interesting design, maybe 1960s, a bit psychedelic. Can’t tell if it’s silk but I wouldn’t be surprised. That would go on my sell individually pile.
Hand rolled edges are a sign of quality and do make a scarf more desirable. You will see that on silk scarves and quality synthetic scarves. I can see that at least some of yours are hand rolled.
I will usually sell silk hand rolled edge scarves singly, whatever the design. Most others in...
You could try looking for comparables online to try and price it. Eg eBay sold listings. The real lamb skin coats may be called Persian Lamb, rather than Astrakhan (IIRC Astrakhan was originally a trade name for the faux fur version)
I’ve never heard of superSheen either (I’m also UK based).
When you say Astrakhan, do you mean faux fur? Astrakhan means different things to different people in my experience. Some people use it for real Persian lamb or another curly lamb, some for a faux synthetic version of Persian lamb, and...
I often wear vintage coats, and knitwear, i find both are easy to wear. Lately I’ve been buying 70s/80s/90s plain wool sweaters in classic shapes, for office wear. They are totally ‘stealth’ vintage, and I’ve bought them simply because they are such good value and quality, compared to buying new...
How great to have two.
They appear to be a half slip with built in stocking suspenders, which is not something I’ve seen before. I wonder what era they are… someone here may know.
If you have more specific questions, feel free to ask - I’m not sure exactly what you are hoping to find out.
I was thinking the precision of ‘100%’ for fabric content denotes later than 1950s, and fits more with later decades. Eg in the 50s you might see ‘All wool’ on a label, but I don’t think I’ve seen numerical values until later, when fabric content labelling starts to be more regulated.
Late 60s...
The label matches the 1960s one in the label resource, and is also similar to an early 80s one. After that ‘Makers of Weatherproof Garments’ seems to disappear.
I get a 60s or maybe 70s vibe from your coat, but hopefully someone else will have an opinion. The lack of care labels also suggests...
