I've had a few Davidows, too, including a teal suit I just listed. While doing so I looked into the patent number tag and found it had been issued in 1943 for a novel method of using less fabric (wartime) while maintaining the proper drape and line. Nifty, no?

Looks to be a late 60s makeup/cosmetics bag, with vinyl lining that's disintegrated/been torn out. The bottom is crocheted, not knit.

Those "dingleball" embellishments were all the rage from the Edwardian era through the (I think early) 20s.

I'd say late 60s, early 70s, based on the colors and style and the fact that I could've easily worn that to elementary school : ).

Absolutely, Marian. It's a combination of the undergarments, the cut of the clothes (there's less room in general and usually no stretch, and the seams are in different places than we're accustomed to), and also my own dance (and comportment, thanks, mom) training. Also, I have to be careful...
