All set up to take a photo for you & my batteries are all dead, so will get a pic asap.
In the meantime, does anyone think it is 40s or if not.....
Sarah
Hello!
Do you think this rayon cummerbund is late 1940s?
Still in it's original box. I couldn't find anyting on Martus Dresswear but did find info on the maker Welch Margetson London. They operated from 1865 to 1963 and mainly made men's shirts. The cummerbund is black & the photos show...
Always thought they were glass topaz not the real thing as I know if they were real, there would be marks, makers name etc, so for sure, topaz glass looking gems....pure costume!
Thanks everso for your help! :spin:
Sarah
It rolls over....hmmm, sounds like 60s doing Victorian reproduction, the topaz gems threw me as very Victorian from what I gather from researching online...
Sarah
Hello!
I picked up this brooch yest. It's quite large and sadly missing it's centre, tho if I can't find a replacement, I think it can be worn as is.
Just wondering re dating, after researching online the brooch looks older than the 50s, possibly Victorian? The brooch has brown topaz...
Thankyou everyone! Good to know I'm correct about the nightie, I was erring to 1960s but then referrred to a book I have from the library that was recommended by VFG.
I'm over the moon about the cami. I know experienced VFG members deal with 1920s items every day but this cami makes this my...
Hello every1!
I have a cami-top or whatever the term is and I know this previous post touched on the subject of dating but opinion was split http://www.vintagefashionguild.org/forums/viewthread.php?tid=61685
With my cami-top it doesn't have a label but does have an embroidered number in...
Hmmmm, TinTrunk and I are Uk based, but I'm sure there's an equivalent out there actually I think I've even used it but on household items.....thanks for reminder!

Hiya,
The closest this Harrods label is to those on label resource is the mid 60s one re colour, but just double double checking that this bag is 1960s.
It's a small bag (11cm x 12cm) but Made In Belgium, which is a change from Made in Hong Kong labels in the 60s. I guess that's why I'm...
I know the sticky label is a new label but I just wondered what year they started to use them that's all, and same with the cowhide imprint. Curiosity really.
Yes, they are horrible and sticky, modern tasteless idea.
Sarah
....I bought them thinking they were modern, then wondered re the cowhide symbol....but modern is fine as I mainly sell vintage on Etsy and vintage fairs, but also sell some modern items under a different name on Ebay, so off it goes to Ebay probably in Spring when people start thinking of...
....Hey Sarah, I looked on Ebay and looks like there IS a Bus Stop label as you say not trying to be fake and seems they're advertised on QVC, jeez my vintage nose wasn't working that day! :headbang: Weird that it doesn't have a care label, but it must have been cut off very neatly. I didn't...
I like fur stoles, which is my secret addiction as won't go outdoors wearing one for obvious reasons, but a fur stole is mighty warm on a chilly evening.
Yes, I like the first one, not that keen on 2nd as not a lot of shape.
As far as keeping that first coat.....I DID NOT resist, I DID...
Thanks for feedback everyone. I had a gut feeling it wasn't geniune especially when I looked up label resource, but was a bit thrown re lack of any care labels , cos I thought they would have been there, or even a fabric label.
My first vintage fair is next Sunday & have been busy labelling...
Hiya,
This black slightly stretchy top is labelled Bus Stop and has no care or fabric labels. I've looked up the Bus Stop label on resource and wondered if this top is THE Bus Stop or something else.
Re resource French Connection took over Lee Bender Bus Stop 1979.
I noticed pre...
Hello, hope everyone's having a lovely weekend!
Just a quickie question. When did shoe manufacturers start using these modern labels on shoes?
Thanks
Sarah
:headbang: Thanks Louise for reply. Luckily I find my UK vintage goodies many miles away from you, otherwise it'd be :USEROCKY: over the goodies!
I'm so pleased I've got the dates right & it's great to get confirmation as it gives me the confidence when I'm selling at the fair.
I...
:hiya:
I have two faux fur teddy bear type coats which I need date confirmation on please. I've researched on line but both makes of coats were around across decades. But from other info I think:
First one Mini Barmink (I love that name!) Courtaulds Courtelle I date as mid to late 1960s...
