I thought this New York Creation dress was 30's looking at similar styles, but reading the label resource, I'm guessing 40's?
Is that correct?
Also, anyone know what the 15 tag by the zipper is?
Thanks!
So I checked under the mink, might have popped a stich, but no fabric under there. The wing seems wired in.
I got this in an auction that had lots of fabulous clothing and hats. I also got a monkey hat/collar set (I know, but they still had it for sale) and a hat with a crow. I was outbid on a...
Mink, bird wing, textured fabric.
Inside reads "Noble & Lincoln" with address
You can imagine what comes up when you search any combination of Lincoln & hat.
Am I correct in thinking Edwardian?
So, I was photographing another hat without a label and noticed this little star. It's the same as the mustard color hat, same braided elastic too. Has anyone seen this little sewn star before?
Reluctantly thinning out my hat collection.
Of course rethinking this beauty
I checked the label resource and tag is 40's. It's just so cool and modern, like a sculpture. It's art! Knit fabric is stretched on a stiff form. Matching hat pin.
Thanks for any info!
I don't believe you have this Waltah Clark's label- it's slightly different than the 60's one you have
It has the "all ovah"
So I'm guessing this dress is late 50's early 60's
Added to the LR 7/15/22
Thank you!
Thank you everyone for your replies and interest, yes I will be selling although I asked her if she wanted her dress, haven't heard back yet. She also sent this information! So I did more research on the designers
Second guessing this, 50's or 60's the embroidered patches look 50's
I had to cut out the bullet bra, it was leaking powder everywhere. I didn't want to but I had to.
I bought a large lot of gorgeous dresses and costumes several years ago, most Asian inspired with hand painting or beading. I think this person made things for an Asian show group. Also made formal dresses.
They are in storage so I can pull them in a week or so if you think you may be...
I'm cleaning out an old storage and have no idea about these. They are very well made but have seen use and better days.
Metal Talon zippers, hook & eye closeures as well as snaps. Lots of boning. They are below knee to tea length
The netting feels kind of metalic but has movement
Posting both...
Hi again! I've been off this forum for a long time. I need some help with this Victor Costa, I can't find anything similar online. No size or content tag, inside doesn't look mass produced.
Do you think it could be couture?
I'm thinking this is a special piece.
It's silk (I believe) with nylon...
Hello everyone. I recently got a monkey coat that has dry damage to the upper back. The rest of the coat appears to be in good condition (skins are soft) I'd like to have this altered to either a cropped jacket or a wrap.
I looked online and it seems most places that do this are in the...
I have taken a couple pieces to a taxidermist for confirmation, however he was an expert in the field of exotic skins and did work for the movie industry. Make sure it's someone who knows their stuff.
IMO the OP's coat is not ocelot or exotic fur, rather sheared sheepskin. It's hard to guess...
Picked up this older jacket but don't recognize the symbols on all the buttons. I have seen old fraternal jackets and this one is similar. It has that striped lining in the sleeves you often find in antique pieces, as well as metal decorative threads.
Close up of the buttons
This pic looks...
Whoops I'm @iprettythefool1 (I forgot the 1)
Thanks for the pics Ookoo, fellow hat addict! Now what to post for Friday 13th???? I know it'll have to include my black kitty, who is getting tired of being a prop, hehe
Whoops, didn't realize how small they were, as I'm doing this on my phone and can expand them on my screen. I suppose it doesn't matter anyway since it's hard to tell. I would like to use them on something of similar time period, so I'll guess 20's or earlier.
Sorry for the phone quality pics
They were in the same bag as these beaded parts, guessing 20's and also a 20's beaded top in poor condition
I think the metallic trims are later
