i just looked at mine and yours IS a Knights of the Templar sword chain. The buckle on my belt has a red cross, so that's what I remembered

it is a sword holder from a belt, probably some masonic group, but I don't know which from that symbol I have a belt with 3 of these in varying lengths from the Knights of the Templar

there is a good fur resource right here on the VFG. That is a mink collar and the body is wool or a wool blend. I love coats and have a ton but here in so. CA I don't get much of a chance to wear em.
