I don't think this 1967 ad is of your purse, but it is a bit similar... Another 1967 article about "pint-sized handbags" mentioned "Herbert Meyers, one of the owners of Meyers Manufacturing Co"

    For Kentucky Derby Day

Thank you for the kind words about my daughter; I will pass your comment along to her, as she was reluctant to put on the hat because she just came back from a run and was concerned about her being "too sweaty." She is, however, a great model for just about anything. Re the Derby, I am sure I...

    For Kentucky Derby Day

Bonnie, I am so glad you asked about the maker, as I either never saw the small Saint Laurent label under the bigger white label, or I forgot what I had (I have had it for many years). Here is what I found when I pulled it out to look for the maker... So, do you agree that it is likely from...

    Seeking info on this label

I only just started to see if I could find anything about PLW for you and the first thing I found was this, from a 1969 article: "Gay Gibson is starting to flex its fashion muscle. The $20 million, Kansas City, Missouri-based company, has opened PLW, a new, younger misses division..."

    Palmerston Suit

I looked for "Palmerston suit" in a few databases to which I subscribe and while I found references to Palmerston suits, none explained what that was. It seems everyone KNEW what a Palmerston suit was and no explanation was needed. Some of the things I found, though, were: -- the first...

Can someone help me identify this label

So far I found only one reference to "Blanka and Berta" in Rome, in a 1997 article about the Dior's New Look in the late 1940's-1950's. This caption was under a photo of a Blanka and Berta suit:

Anyone know anything about the label “Charles James Shop?”

I only searched one database thus far and only two articles popped up that mentioned Charles James Shop. Both articles were published in 1962. Who is Angela Gore!

A 1972 article about Gore noted her Angela Gore name "is a derivative of Angela Boys and her erst-while Scottish partner Daphne Gore" The article further adds that she is "a one-woman band and Angela Boys presides, designs, chooses fabrics, and interviews buyers." Angela Boys, they add, is doing...

    Who is Angela Gore!

It seems Angela Gore "built her reputation on nightdresses and negligees." I think the first non-lingerie ad I saw for her creations was in 1970 when according to a 1971 article, "she branched into very feminine informal evening dresses." I think the last mention I found of her was in a...

Looking for information on a company called Tuttle & Clark

I only just started a research inquiry about Tuttle & Clark and the first thing I found was an 1895 ad for horse harnesses, horse blankets, saddles, etc. from Tuttle & Clark in Detroit. I will keep digging, but it seems that may be how they started. In 1897 they advertised their "fine fur...

In order that your question not get rolled into the thread above, perhaps an administrator can move it to its own thread. Until then I found ads for Paul W.
