Good Thing It Wasn't the Year 2000

Good association, Carrie, as I forgot to note that this came from a January magazine, so we can assume it was a New Year's Eve dress. I would LOVE to find such a thing.

Good Thing It Wasn't the Year 2000

Good Thing It Wasn\'t the Year 2000 I don't know whether singer and actress Marion Hutton really wore this 1941 dress, but that would certainly be a short-lived fashion, wouldn't it?

    Wanna feel REEEEEEEEEEALLY Old?

Lord. I read this to my husband and when I was done I turned to him and said "They don't sell McDonald's hamburgers in styrofoam boxes anymore?" He just laughed and said I need to get out more. I guess THAT'S old.

Scarf with label "Caroline Reboux 23 rue de la paix" help

From what I can see, what you have appears to be a scarf. The fact that the Reboux name is partially lopped off at the top of the label seems odd to me, though.

    Fashion is Spinach

I only skimmed quickly through this online book about fashion and it looks like light reading, but as the author worked as a sketcher in Parisian fashion houses in the late 1920s I think Fashion is Spinach might be a fun fashion read. Here is a summary of the author's fashion highlights...

Anyone a vintage scarf guru? Vogel?

I have only done a cursory search for information about Vogel Co. and concentrated my search in NY papers, because of the NY label information. Lydia's Egyptian Flappers

Lydia\'s Egyptian Flappers At an estate sale years ago I bought some simple works of art from a then-elderly local artist. Not clothing - but vintage luggage history question

The earliest references I found to American Tourister and Escort (and I don't know if this is the same Escort) was from 1961 to about 1970 when there was mention of American Tourister luggage and Escort hat boxes. I was not able to see the ads without paying for them, but the four references all...
