I'm pretty sure it's contemporary or not quite old enough to be vintage. They started outsourcing their manufacturing to Asia in the mid-90s. I don't think LL Bean stuff is faked. Unfortunately, the quality isn't quite what it used to be (as I look down at my contemporary LL Bean flannel shirt...

I see Y2K too. I just had a house call at the home of a woman who worked in the mall in the early 2000s and there was a lot of stuff like this - including some stretchy shirts that are TINY (like 6" x 6") but with lots of stretch.

I'm with you about snakeskin/lizard skin but I would have picked this up too - love that style and the closure on the front.

Hi - As it's Made in Vietnam I'm pretty sure that's fairly recent. LL Bean started outsourcing manufacturing to other countries in the mid-90s. That being said - late 90s and early aughts are considered vintage. As said above, a full photo would be helpful. It looks like a cool piece!
