I don't know your fabric but I have used instant spot remover from the home depot applied to a cotton pad on polyester and it worked. Sometimes there is nothing you can do if it has faded the dyes in the fabric

It looks older than 40s to me. Maybe 30s. The lightning zipper company is pretty old, used in boots and such even in the late 1910s not sure about clothing. I think you would be safe with 40s though

Yea there is nothing better than seeing and handling the item to decide. Pictures are hard. I would expect standard surging on and eighties shirt and maybe a tag remnant of some sort.

Are you sure it is Rayon and not silk. The print reminds me so much of some vintage 30s silk fabric I sold a while back.
