Can't believe I guessed it!
But when I read it was something she was wearing and it was a cosmetic and someone had already guessed lipstick, I was thinking either nailpolish, eyeshadow or mascara. But she was holding playing cards. So I thought HMMMM, possibly they're trying to call...
Holy cow! I'm going to have to fix my pictures if this dress is looking periwinkle. It's actually a true aqua or seafoam color. I don't want to mislead people if the color doesn't look like whats in my descripton.
My camera never takes blue and green tones accurately for some reason...
I remember Danskins used to make bodysuits like that and sell matching wrap skirts to go with them. It was always a challenge to resnap them before leaving the ladies room.

Check out this beauty I just added to my Babylon/VC Mall Site. It's just one out of many party dresses I've brought back from my summer buying trip.
Also, because I'm running out of storage space around here, I've been running a clearance sale on my Tias Mall site. Lots of discounted vintage...
Hi Paula
I'm voting for 60's on both pairs. The silver glittery ones are too fab. What size are they?
I don't sell many shoes, but I think a lot of people use "kitten heels" for a search term.

Hi Patsy
That's a great sweater.
Unfortunately I don't have any good suggestions on how to get those spots out. But I'm glad I read about that Goddards stuff. Will definitely have to try it out.
Just wanted you to know, I feel your pain! You must have wanted to weep when you saw all those...
This one was a nightmare to photograph! Just not having any luck with pictures today.
I'm wondering if anyone can tell me if this is 40s or 50s? Feels similar to those St John santana knits, but with metallic threads.
Haven't a clue what kind of yarn this is. Definitely not wool...
Jonathan, that's a good point. I never thought about the possibility of it being Mexican made. I guess because of it being wool and I've only ever seen the tourist stuff from there. The size tag says 44.
I'm guessing it's around a 6 or 8.
It's got all this tiny pearl beading on it too...
Hi everyone! Am finally back from my month long trip to New England and I guess I need to start doing some work. I got a bunch of nice stuff, but I've just been staring at the piles since I got home. Can't seem to get motivated. Oh well, anyway....
found this two piece 50s outfit that I'm...
Out to search for the saddle soap and leather cleaner. I have tried cleaning with a little Murphys Oil soap and warm water and though it did remove some dirt, the leather still looks dingy.
Will try your suggestions.
Thanks!
Theresa
Hi
Hope some of of the handbag experts can help with this. Just acquired a cute Enid Collins flower basket purse. Its in pretty good condition but the cream color leather is really dingy looking and there are a some scratches.
What's the best way to clean it up? Is there anyway I can get it...
Would love to keep this cute outfit, but my thighs rejected it! Could anyone tell me what era this is from?
It has gold metallic in the sweater, around sleeves, arms and midriff area. Buttons are textured clear plastic with gold designs. No label. I was thinking maybe 40s, but thought...
Sunset on acid! I like that! Melanie (route66gal) found an auction for a dress with the name Colin Glascoe written on the fabric. Dress was made in England. I believe she's found the mystery designer! Yay!

Help! Can\'t make out designer name on dress
Can't seem to make out the signature of the designer on this dress. Is it colia glassos, glascos, colin? Whatever. Was hoping someone would recognize it. The label inside has been torn out. Love this dress, though. Very pucci-ish.
Thanks...
Hi Gail
Just picked up a little sundress with that label too! How weird. Anyway, that is a cute dress and it's kind of preppy. Do people search for that term?

Hi Gail
That's a very pretty dress. Love those bright colors against the black background. Kind of exotic, almost Asian look to it. Are the flowers mums? Also, is that sort of a border print down the front or a separate section of fabric? Either way, it's a great print.

Hi Paula
I'm going to guess 40s, though I'm wrong lots of times! Hopefully someone way more knowledgable will come along soon.
I do like that skirt, though, very very much!

Melanie, just wanted to say your first installment of the Rockabilly workshop was fantastic. Great pix and information. Can't wait for the rest!

Hi, anyone out there who can tell me how old this Jantzen bathing suit is? Also, any guess on what to call this material? It feels almost like a fine terrycloth with a little stretch and has a slight sheen to it.
Thanks Theresa

Thanks everyone for the info. Good to know that bohemian style is going to be popular again. I've had this for a while, waiting for an appropriate time to list it.

First of all I'm guessing this is a 70s skirt. Was wondering what opinions are on whether this is worth putting up for sale right now. Does it fit with the hippie look they're showing for spring/summer?
Thanks Theresa

Great tips Anne!
Burned a couple more pieces and the smell reminded me of grilled burgers. But I've been sick for over two weeks and my sense of smell could be off! The black ash definitely crushes up easily. So I'm going with silk.
Thanks

Hi Kelly
I do have a navy blue cape with a red lining that looks like a nurse/salv army type cape. It might work for you. I'd be happy to send pix.
I'm out of town and won't be home until later today, but will check the board when I get in.
If you can use it, I'll mail it to you and you...
