Hi, Jonathan, I might guess who CF is. If it is who I think it is, she never cleans anything before listing. It's all offered up "as found" even when it's perfectly washable. I always marvel at the high prices she commands for things she hasn't prepped (while I spend hours and hours washing...
I'm 42. I've been wearing vintage since my Mom let me play dress-up with 1830s children's gingham dresses when I was a kid in the late 60s. In the 70s, I wore my mother's 40s dresses to high school. In the 80s, I was wearing almost exclusively 1950s clothing, both women's and menswear, bowling...

How wonderful! (It made me tear up, too!!!!) That is a very sweet article.
I almost went to the auction of the Webb museum, Jody. I wanted to go, but just didn't make it. I think I convinced myself that things would sell for too much for resale, and the motel and travel would not be worth...
Hi, Boycetime,
before I took it to Karen I had guessed myself that it was from the 1870s. She said the princess seams and the paisley itself were popular from 1865-1870 or so. The back is longer than the front but graduated, like the post Civil War shapes, not like a thinner extended train of...
I have a very special garment consigned with me this week and it's up on eBay now, it's a late 1860s wool paisley morning coat in unusual colors of emerald green with red, orange and blue. It's in wonderful shape. I don't see things like this everyday, and so I hope you enjoy it! :hiya...

Hi, it looks later to me, maybe 70s from your pics. The synthetic and the elastic are also making me lean toward 70s and the flowers don't look right for 40s, somehow. Can you show the shoulder pads and inside construction?
