It is not lined, but it is hand made. Silk backed Sari silk, gossamer weight. No labels. I'm sure it was part of a set.
I believe it to be bespoke, or designer, because everything thing else from the 50's at the estate sale was high quality. I found a 50's Dior garter belt, at Tina Leser silk...
I know this is a long shot, does anyone think this resembles a certain designer's work?
It has a Clair zipper, so I think it's French. It's made from Sari silk, with little peacocks on it.
All the other garments at the estate sale sale were high quality, with a handful of long forgotten...
Not sure if this is the correct spot for this.
Anyone heard of, or seen this label before?

There was a guy who sold them at Saturday Market, here in Portland, in the 80's. A guy in Eugene (?) sells them also, who worked with him.
(I don't know if he sold them in the 70's, I just remember them in the 80's.)

It's really nubby, I am guessing it is a lizard of some kind.
I cannot for the life of me find anything like this!
Thank you!
Hi Sandy!
My next mannequin is going to be a collapsible shoulders dress form, preferably 50's. I am tired of having to fight getting dresses over the shoulders!
Wolf Form co has a knob at the top of theirs. http://www.wolfform.com

Has anyone seen an image (or more) of ladies protesting the length of skirts, from the late 40's?
I cannot recall where or when I saw it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!
Sincerely,
Sandi
I posted mine on ebay, twice, and they didn't garner much attention. Finally sold in my antique mall space for $25. Definitely use "ranch pants"' if you list, that could be the clincher.
It's really simple.
I'm sure it is late 60's. I just haven't seen any labels in paper, or even anything in rayon from that period. Most of what I come across is a polyester blend, faux silk, cotton, or blend thereof.
Thank you!
Sandi
Congratulations! :clapping:
If I'm not mistaken, they went to Beaverton High School. My brother chatted with them after a show in San Francisco a while ago.

Penney\'s dress, union labels, and Penney\'s label ??
:puzzled:
Labels are throwing me for a loop, and the dress is so plain.
What date say you?
And why the paper labels??
Why the paper union label?? (I think that is what it is)
It is a very lightweight rayon, almost sheer...
I recently found a pair that I wanted back then, at thrift shop. I am hoping the early 90's stuff might be popping up everywhere else too!
I always loved the middle eastern influence of these slingbacks. I can get my foot in them still, it's just that I'd rather not wear them if I can find a...
There were these shoes that Nordstrom sold.
And a young foolish girl liked to buy shoes that did not necessarily fit, as much as she had to have them.
Today, however, this OLD foolish girl would seek them in her living size of (vintage) European 39 or 40.
These were quite...
Hi!
Those look late 60's or 70's, to me. The font is quite close to many I have had. And the material looks very early 70's to me.
Just my two bits!
Sandi
Just picked up these two suits. Only one has a label, though I am ABSOLUTELY certain they are both Claude Montana.
May I, with a clear conscience, say the one without is a Claude Montana?
The care labels match, and the silhouette where a label should be (on the lavender suit) is the same...
