At the vintage fairs I sell at there is what we call 'the button lady'. She sells other items but mainly buttons (all vintage stock) and only at the fairs and not online.
If you're interested I do have an email address. She's a fab lady and very helpful.
She is UK based though, but...
Thanks Bessi for that amazing information.
I wish I hadn't sold it now!
Think I'll put forward the label for resource.
Once again thanks for sharing, you obviously hold fond memories of that time.

The dress was the second I ever found. The customer who bought my first dress I found send photos too and I posted that on here as well.
I'll U2U a link to her blog and you'll be able to listen to some of her music. Don't ask me what type of music; I'm useless with new sounds etc!
Sarah
Thanks everyone! The dress was one of my first finds and a personal favourite. It was sad parcelling it up and saying goodbye'; but sure looks like it's being appreciated!
Sarah
Thanks Louise! I wish I had a figure like that! By the way, I will post some pics of the vintage fair, but they're only of the stall inbetween customers and none of me (which is fine by me lol!).

:hiya:
Sold a beautiful sequinned dress from my Etsy store to a lovely lady in the United States.
She adores vintage and is a singer. As you can see she was delighted with the dress and the photo is now on her band's blog.
She kindly sent me the lovely photo of her bringing the dress...
Thankyou everyone for the feedback. I was selling at a London vintage fair yest, so have only logged on today (I'm exhausted!). I think the shoes are quite cute but I will not mention old lady style lol. I like em cos of the T Bar and retro look and Portland have been around since 1946 so...
Hmmm, Queen Mother type wearer...may not go with that sales pitch but know what you mean! They are odd shoes and rather strange. It's also strange the old terminology used 'Patent Coated Leather' or does that also crop up in the 70s and 80s? They're quite sweet really, I would have been...
Wow this is confusing. I was gonna say that I'm a size 4 but these are just a tad too big so guess 4 1/2 and that's the size on the sole of the foot... 4 1/2. Are vintage shoe sizes similar to clothes sizes i.e. vintage sizes are much smaller then current, if so then these shoes are newer. As...
Hi everyone!
I picked these up recently and sadly they're a tad too big for me, but I was :scratchchin: over the date.
First off I thought they were 1960s but I know via Jonathan that the leather cowhide symbol was around late 70s, so that confused me somewhat. I know Portland have been...
Wow that's so cool Louise!
I keep forgetting (I don't know why) that you can always get hold of 2nd hand copies. My mind seems to say library or new. Duh!
I am getting better at identifying 50s and 60s hats, but Nicole's quite right with those last two hats that they're probably not their...
Thanks so much Nicole, that was so informative and has answered alot of my questions. Really interesting!
At the moment , any vintage books I have are mainly on loan from library and the Hat book I want isn't available there, so I'm gonna have to put it on my Xmas wish list.
Once again...
Ok, here are pics of the insides. Not good pics, I think a new camera will have to be on my Xmas wish list! Your help would be great as always.....
Inside of 1st hat with multi colour ribbon:
Inside of Brown cello hat with grapes/cherries - has a velvet ribbon:
Blue hat...
Taken some pics but haven't come out very well as not in natural light as evening now in U.K.
The cello one with the grapes/cherries has a nice velvet inner band...I'm thinking 60s on that one.
Get some pics posted tomorow when the sun rises.
Sarah
...no labels sadly, I'll get some pics sorted of the insides. I woudn't be surprised if some of them are modern. The person I got them from had quite a mixture. I did get a cloche hat from them and that had a label so that was a definite 20s hat. Another story maybe on these ones.....
Sarah
:elf: awwwh, only just noticed the xmas smilies...cute..anyway...my mind has gone totally totally blank and so I need help with some hats I've acquired. They came to me all squashed, but have been packing them, so the shape is becoming more formed and closer to original.
I have got some...
.....and yes GreenVioletVintage it is like your's, kind of glad that I was right about my original 90s assumption. Don't know what to do with it though as can't sell as vintage & it certainly doesn't fit me! Just a lesson learnt I think!
Sarah
Thanks everyone,, 90s it is. In my defence it was an item that I bought when I first started buying vintage, I'm getting better at unearthing vintage and leaving non-vintage alone though still have the odd moment lol!
Sarah
Thanks Karin, I thought 90s but only cos I had a handbag which had the mirror inserts. Consensus seems to be late 70s it seems.
Vicki...you mentioned brand at the buckle??????
Sarah
It's goldtone for sure and thought it was unlikely to be real turquoise cos of that, but did wonder what it was made from, but resin...ok resin sounds likely....so thanks Amber!
