Hello all,
I am writing researching for an article about lesser known/ maybe even bizarre fashion trends or fads. I've looked everywhere online, but so far I can't exactly what I'm looking for. Can anyone recommend any sources? I am happy with anything and everything. Thank you!
Hi Melanie,
I believe that black mark on the label is where the care label would have been and possibly the fabric content label. So I'm guessing that would make it post 1970? This jacket comes from Canada, I believe, since the label has French and English. I don't know if that makes a difference.
Hello,
I was wondering if there are any Levi's experts. I purchased a jacket. The seller claims it's from the 60s/70s. I'm obviously no expert. It has the two breast pockets and no side ones (which was introduced in the mid eighties and is still made today). It's a men's jacket apparently, so...
Hello again,
I was also wondering if you might know anything about these shoes. They are leather. From the label they look like they came from the middle east. Similar pairs I have seen online are said to be from the nineties. Would you say the same for these?
Hello All,
I was hoping you could help me date these heels. They are leather and a kind of powdery blue colour. Any ideas? Sorry if pics are too big! Thanks!
Here is my my other piece of jewelry. It's a long seed bead necklace. The beads are definitely glass and have a cool feel. Would this necklace be considered a sautoir? Also, does this look like it could be an authentic art deco piece? Or could it be a later revival?
Again sorry for low quality...
Hello,
I hope everyone is well today! I have a few items of jewelry here I was hoping to get some input on. I have posted them separately. See pictures bellow.
The first is a ring. It has a GEP mark in the shank which I have come to learn means Gold electroplate. But there is another mark I...
Thank you all so much for your input! I really appreciate it. And yes Deborah, they are very warm. And that tidbit about the Simpsons label is definitely helpful if I encounter more pieces in the future! Thanks again! :)
The blue one does have a care label! This makes so much sense now that they are bed jackets. No wonder I couldn't locate them on Etsy as regular sweaters. I just assumed they were cardigans because I had seen this style in stores today. In fact I had a sweater just like this that I had...
Here are the photos of the two different sweaters! I'm wondering if the reason I haven't been able to find them online is because I've haven't been typing in the proper style name. This style is not at all unusual today. Just curious as to when it would've been popular in the past.
Anyway, I'm...
Hi,
I recently purchased a few acrylic cardigans (both made in England, according to label). Neither have buttons, just a tie closure. The colours are both pastel. I've looked on Etsy for similar styles. So far I haven't found any that resemble these sweaters. The only ones that I have found...
Beautiful find! If the fur is real, I wonder what kind it is? Also, just out of curiousity, anyone know what they would've used back then to make faux fur? I know nowadays, it's polyester.
Thank you both for the feedback! Actually Nicole, it's funny you should suggest that they are Flamenco shoes. The handwriting on the sole reads "Baneo" which is a Spanish sounding name. Could be the original owner's name. I didn't think anything of it until you mentioned this!
Thanks for the...
Hello again,
I have a brocade? dress with a matching jacket. I was thinking it was from the sixties. Does that sound accurate? Also, if so what part of the sixties--early, mid or late? I always wonder when this style was most popular.
Hello All,
I was wondering if you can help me date these mary janes. I'm honestly not sure. I got them because they reminded of Twiggy. Any information would be helpful!
Thanks!
I forgot to mention that originally it is supposed to have the pewter clasp style buttons but for whatever reason they were removed. I'm going to have to add them myself.
I just realized we're not allowed to post images of for sale items. So this message will most likely be deleted. Sorry about that. I will post my own pictures as soon as possible!
Hello All,
I was just wondering if any of you have heard of the Norwegian label Firda by Evebofoss. I purchased a wool coat by them awhile back. Nordic sweaters are my obsession. Unfortunately my camera isn't working at the moment, but if you follow ebay link below , you will see two coats that...
