I have several very old shetland lace baby shawls, that are sooooooooo soft and lovely and like Jonathan have never seen a dress made of this.
Shetland lace is a knit lace.

I agree with Nicole on this being a polyester double knit. Crimplene tends to have more of a pebbly texture to it. I think this is late 60s, possibly
very early 70s.

My first impression is that it is earlier. The bodice of the dress with the short sleeves and midriff ribbing and also the stripe pattern make me think late
40s. Can you tell what it is knit from, wool? acrylic? Are there any closures on the dress?

I had a suit, rust brown, almost identical to this that I wore with high boots
in the 70s. The jacket I often wore with jeans and the same boots. Loved it.
No, I don't think it is too early for Autumn listings. Most of the stores here
(Ontario) started clearing out their summer stuff...
