Jonathan, I once saw a leopard print in the Williamsburg dress shop that prompted me to ask about animal prints that far back. I had no idea they existed, but when I got home from that trip, I looked them up. Here's the kind of thing -...

Hi,
There are lots of details about Asian dresses that make them hard to date sometimes, but the fabric of your dress looks most likely 1980s or 90s. That being said, it's a vague assessment. I have seen some Asian dresses that are next to impossible to date with real conviction.

The first fabric (the blue & green leafy motif) looks like a satin brocade, though the brocaded part is more textured than many are. Probably a cotton blend? Just a guess without feeling it. That peacock blue & emerald green combo was very popular in early 60s brocade.
I agree with the ages estimated above. For the stains, it's most likely a food stain, but this doesn't tell us whether it's plant-based, animal-based, has oils/fats (or doesn't), or whether it's some combination... like coffee (plant) with cream (animal and oil). It's also going to be oxidized...
This info is a good start. Most of the corde` we see is black or navy, though Jonathan's pastel bag above is a really beautiful exception to the norm. In terms of dating bags, it's pretty hard to pinpoint within a year or two, but a bit broader range is possible. Speaking in generalities...
I agree with Hollis, and wanted to answer the skirt/pant question. I have normally seen these jackets with skirts, but I have rarely had them with pants to match. This one looks mid 1960s. The style, finishing, and particularly the lining tells me it was a Hong Kong custom tailored piece...
