Ok - trying this post again to see if the photos upload this time! I am not positive on the date on this jacket but it seems to resemble some of the styles from the 1880s? Also, the camisole (not called this but I can't seem to remember the exact term, I don't think it's a corset even though it has some boning to it) - seems later to me. I love it though... I could see it worn over a more modern sheer blouse.

I also found a copy of "the designer" magazine from 1901 - hoping to browse it soon and learn more about the designs from that period.

Any help would be great, thanks!

I think the jacket as you call it, is earlier than 1880s. It has an 1860s line to it, at least from what I can tell in the photos.

The beaded jet bodice looks to be around 1900-1910 but the details are hard to see.
 
Barbara got here first! I agree on both.
The jacket/bodice - 1865 - 1870 ish and I think Barbara has the beaded bodice right in the 1900 - 1910 range. It can be very hard to date a bodice without sleeves or a skirt to a specific year.

Oh, neat - I just love those dresses! I can't really tell what the fabric is unfortunately... I'm thinking silk, but it's more of a rough type of feel, reminds me a bit of rayon, but note quite.
