I enjoyed looking through THIS DIGITAL CATALOG from Jordan Marsh. Amusing how the fashions are drawings and the photographs of women's heads are inserted.

I thought of Lizzie when I saw these two photos. Imagine how heavy those swim suits (Mohair!) were when they got wet. And the dresses in the catalog ... looks like of lot of ironing to me.

Two more - “Mourning Millinery” includes a bonnet “made of fine grade nun’s veiling,” and a silk mourning hat with “...real tetras feathers.”

“Ladies’ Mourning Garments”- “It is always wise to buy either black or gray materials of a house that carries the largest stock of mourning goods in this country.”
