1920’s slip dress or lingerie?

Hello!

I recently acquired a significant estate, a lot of which is in fact French couture from the teens into the twenties.

this slip dress is baffling to me and I am trying to figure out if it is a slip itself, or a dress and to be worn with a slip underneath. I can’t seem to find much similar, the sleeve shape and neckline.
I have used some of the resources available on the site, and asked a colleague for input but we can’t quite pinpoint its purpose.

at the hem - this would make me guess
It is a high end piece but of course I can’t be certain as there is not a label. Does anybody recognize this piece or the style details to attribute to a specific French designer of the time?

This looks more like a late teens or 1920s silk nightgown to me. It is really lovely. Looks like it might be made of a crepe de chine silk.
