Has any one see an original one or has colour photos as I no clue to the colour apart from seeing photos like this.

just found this post again
so maybe I should add that this project on hold as the corset maker never got back to me, even though she said she has a pattern and knew how to make it and was noe looking for the fabric, this was several months ago , it's typical of what happens these days to me. I never chase people up at this stage as it proves how unreliable they are.
also do not feel like parting with my money to people like that as I do not see why I should be chaseing and chaseing them.

Strictly speaking, this is a corselette. Colour was probably pink/peach damask. The VFG section on Corsets has good colour reproduction for reference. Finding a similar fabric will be the problem. There are some very good corset makers in the UK although making a foundation garment can be quite expensive.

The CorsetHeaven site seems to have a good Blog and an exchange of information. You might want to look at the following sites if you haven't done so already (I hope the first one isn't out of date);

The Leicester Museum should be able to help with specific queries.

Thanks for posting that pic Paul, I love it!! :wub:
If I ever got a corset made, I'd want a light peach or pink color....

Thanks Angela for your support, I think mine will go on the on the back burner for a while.

Paul, the only color a proper woman would have worn during the 1920's, would have been Tearose Pink. Anything else like red or black would have been considered "fast". This way of thinking remained until the 1960's and is what I found out from someone who worked at Symington's here in Leicestershire during the 30's- 60's.
Tearose Pink is the color shown on my corsets here:

Thank you Lei , it good to know what the name of the colour is really called "Tearose Pink" as there is pink and pink .
A collector friend has just bought a 20's fan laced corset in the last few days so I also have acess to to her photos and she good enough to take photos of every detail when I require them.
