1920s Dress and 1910 dress? Repair help

Found two dresses. Both are made of silk.
I think they are from 1920s and 1910s.
I just need to confirm if they are from 1910s and 1920s. :)
Long dress's bottom is ripped. Does anyone know how to repair it?

The long dress is c. 1910-12 but I would sell it as is unless you know what you are doing because an improperly done repair can be more harmful to the value than the damage. The purple dress looks like the top of a lingerie set - perhaps a pyjama set from the early 20s?

The damage to the dress is called "shattering", which is what happens to very old silk. If you try to repair it, it could shatter more, so you would have to do as Jonathan says and sell it as is, for a collector, pattern or study or maybe even a costume. The waist may be repairable, because the stitching and the lace would strengthen the fabric.

Waist is fine. It is just opening. :USING:

Do you guys recommend anyone that is good at repairing antique clothing?
