I bought this dress for my own collection as an example of the tryolean-ethnic style that was popular in the mid 30s and into the 40s. Velvet bodice with embroidery, wool dirndl skirt.
I know Lanz was producing clothing both in Austria and in the US from the early 30s onward. This has the US label.

The dress buttons at the side, It has light shoulder pads. My guess is that it is late 30s.
My questions: Exactly how long was this look popular? Did girls continue to wear such a Germanic looking thing during the War? Am I right to think this is 30s?
