1930\'s Dress, NRA?

Hi everyone,
I have been away for a while - had my last law exam for the year yesterday, yeah!- so I haven't had a chance to check out the boards much. I did, however, recently purchase this gorgeous 1930's evening dress. The fabric is perfect condition in the respect that there are no holes or tears, but it has faded in places and has some quite nasty stains. Anyway what is really interesting is the label which is marked 'NRA' with a little picture of an eagle and states " Made under DRESS CODE, AUTHORITY XBA". I put it in capitals because that is how it appears on the label. I was wondering if anyone knows anything about this. I thought it might be the National Recovery Agency (I think that's right) or maybe I am wrong? Your help would be much appreciated.

Hmmm, have you checked the label resource, because I think there may be a pic of it... Yes it does sound like the post-depression National Recovery Agency.

If my memory serves, the eagle one is a fairly restricted date usage, and does indicate a 30s-early 40s origin. I may be wrong there. The others will have a better idea. Sounds great, would love to have a look!

Ah, the last exam of the year - oh, what a feeling! The dress sounds interesting - looking forward to seeing it.

The National Rceovery Act Label with the blue eagle is indeed the early thirties label. There is also a much more commmon National Recovery Board label that spans a much longer time.

Ohh I am very excited, it is so nice to have something with a little bit of history attached to it. Silly me though I probably should have checked out the label resource first - I have been in the middle of exams too long. I didn't get a chance to photograph it today though - boyfriend and I went to play baseball on the beach, we don't have it here at all, but he is huge RedSox fan - although there is always tomorrow. I feel bad asking questons and not adding a picture and it has the most beautiful ruffles at the bottom too!

Photos at last!!!

At last I take the photos, I am sorry if they are too big/ I haven't done it right I haven't quite got my head around posting photos yet.

Here you go. :)

You can resize either before you save them online (by using a photo editing programme - 'scale pic' or similar)

When you post them you can resize by including a size instruction in your html. This means you use the full html rather than the simple BB code that the automatic buttons here insert.

so you write (without the spaces, 'real' spaces to kepp here indicated by dashes): < img-src = "http://www.your image url.jpg"-width = 400 >
