1940s? 50s? Earlier? Ive never seen a skirt like this lana austrian wool

Any ideas as to how old this might be? I am guessing 1940s, but I have a hard time dating some of the imported mid century designs. The hardware doesn't help me. The elastic on the underside of the band is mid 50s or earlier. That's all I can tell. Help!!?

Can you tell us how long the skirt is please, and if the hem is the original length or if it looks to have been altered.

I agree that it's probably '50s but a measurement will help pin the date down a bit, as the zipper looks a little earlier.

I have a shawl from the 50s made of the identical sort of fabric. It's a really cool skirt!

1950s and it most likely it had a matching short sleeve top.
A member had a similar skirt and so did I in black.
