I just stumbled across this article showing a collection of photos of everyday life in New York in the early 1940s. I can't get over the colour of these pictures - it looks so modern. Just thought I'd share.

Love the cold soft drinks cart! I'll bet those tasted really good...and the three homeless men are so well dressed compared to the homeless men we see now.

One of those three doss house men appears to be wearing blue jeans, with his tailored jacket and fedora - I thought that was interesting.
