Just wondering if there's a way to date these purses.....strikes me as more 60s but I see alot of similar ones being listed as early as 40s but it seems unlikely those colours were available in plastics then? The label was in a really awkward place for photos so I did my best.....it says "Plasticoil, General Plastics Ltd, Toronto, Canada"....i don't see any info for the company.
Thanks alot
Lauren

The colours were available all right but I agree with you that this looks on the later side of the trend, not only because the shape is much like the 50's/60's kelly bags but also because the coils are not their original shape but a modified form that makes them easier to make into items, which sounds like a later process to me. The brand name also indicates their main business was this.
Can you tell us the measuments please?

I did a little research when I found this bag and discovered that these colors were introduced in the 1950s. I agree that Lauren's is '60's and mine is '50's.
