1940s or 80s velvet jacket?

So I have found similar items from Both eras matching this style

The cuffs particularly and the internal shoulder pads and single fabric frog closure all look 40's 50s but I do find some 80s coats with similar cuffs

So I wanted to throw it up here and ask what you think

Its more maroon than brown in person and no tags
Please ignore my 60s dress underneath it lol

There are shoulder pads inside. I can't get them out...but i would say that they aren't gigantic and feel similar to pads i have in 40s dresses not thin but not huge

I see early '50s clutch coat and someone's added the frogs as a clasp.

But they did produce some lovely styles like this during the nostalgic '70s and it appears to be cotton velvet and the lining looks more like bemsilk than rayon and they liked the shade then too so I'd be unpicking the seam and checking out the shoulder pads.

The shoulder pads will cinch it so accessing and photographing them will help enormously as there are big differences between the two eras.

Congratulations! They look like late '40s to early '50s shoulder pads.

I agree with Nicole, it sure looks like a late 40s, early 50s garment.
