1950 Dior dress?

I was wondering if any one can tell me anything about this Dior dress? I know that Dior started creating caftan style coats in the 50's, but what about dresses? The fabric is linen with glass beading at the cuffs and neckline. Thanks so much for any help.

I agree 60s I had a dress very similar, though not Dior it is eriely the same!.... perhaps this was a fad?

I put a photo just for kicks, mine is slightly shorter but beaded in japan? But made by Jean Lutece.... not entirely famous but I found sellers claiming he worked for Chanel later, but I could not find confirmation of this. I could not sell this stupid dress I let it go for 30 bucks,,, wish I had put 250 on it and sat on the price! lol loking at what others sell his stuff for!

I was going to suggest 1960's too. :) I've got a blue silk dress with beaded Egyptian collar. It's shorter in length but the cut is very similar and I think these styles were very popular in the 60's. Yours is beautiful.

Looks like a 50's label. Be sure to check out the label resource at VFG.

VFG Label Resource

These ladies have done a great job compiling designer labels!

Unfortunately, sometimes designers weren't as easy to pin down as far as exact end date of a label. They have a funny way of using up old ones or not using the "new one" on a cut and dried exact date. I find that there sometimes is overlap or more of a range. And the label resource is dependent on what pieces contributors pick up. Of course, some things were more cut and dry but some just give a range and you have to use the other factors to figure it out.

I agree the dress is 1960s. This is the ready to wear label that was designed and separately from Dior in Paris where the designer was Marc Bohan. I believe the house had approval of the NY designs and that the garmenta were built in the US.
