1950s handbag: Crocodile or alligator?

I've been fixing up this vintage leather bag, and I'm trying to figure out what kind of skin it is. Based on texture and appearance I think it's genuine, but I'm stumped by the scales. I can't find any ISO pores, so I'm guessing alligator? Also, any other info on this type of bag is appreciated! It has a "Lance" zipper and hinges labeled "Day Sol"; unfortunately, I haven't been able to find info on either of those companies.
Thank you!

I would say it appears to be more in keeping with an Alligator as the tiles get much smaller the further out it goes, Crocodile tends to be more similar in sizing. I'm not an expert though so will be interested to see their opinions.

I would agree, looks like Alligator to me. Crocodile should have a tiny dot on each scale, which is actually a hair follicle.
