Hello all 
I'll be visiting NY in February on business, and hope to find a free afternoon to buy a special outfit for my sister's wedding. I've looked at various guides to vintage shopping in the city. The choice is bewildering. I would really appreciate your help in narrowing down the list to one or two places that are most likely to have what I am looking for. I won't have much time to shop, so want to make sure I am heading for the right place.
The wedding will be in October in the north of England - the weather could still be warm or it could have turned wet and be cold. Either way it won't be summer dress weather. So, ideally I am looking for a smart suit (or dress and coat) in an autmnal colour. Just to give you an idea of what I like, in general 1950s styles suit me the most, and the Lily Allen ranges really appeal to me. I want something really special - my budget is around $500 to $600.
Do you know of any friendly places in New York with a good stock of this kind of high quality outfit? (I am keen to try things on before I buy - so want to visit a shop rather than buy online)
