1950s?

I found this gorgeous dress at the thrift store for $13 and my initial reaction was 1950s but I would just like to confirm. It's all beautifully home made by a very skilled seamstress. Metal side zipper, tulle over taffeta, boning. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
