Some favourite dresses of mine - would just like to know what you think about them date-wise. I mean, I love them and I wear them, no matter what, but I'm curious all the same :scratchchin:.
Sorry about the photos, I made them in my mirror since I don't have a mannequin, no "photo-slave" as my friend calls that, and I'm having a bad hair day today :D.
It's 100% polyester according to the label. I love the name "Peggy Lane" - reminds me of the song Penny Lane (maybe that was intended?), which is from 1967. It has a metal zip in the back. Second part of the 1960s? The styling of the top reminds me a bit of the 40s too, but that can't be I think. The length is original.
This is one of my favourite summer dresses and I always get compliments when I wear it. It's home-made, as the zip on the side, and a pretty shape with a dropped waist.
Close-up of the fabric. It's relatively heavy, but it the dress still feels nicely cool even when it's hot outside.
This one is very light, a synthetic mix, has a label with care instructions and detailing the material. Metal zip in the back. 1970s? or still 60s?
Finally, this is one of my first vintage buys that wasn't evening wear - it's cute, home-made (and very well made), but I think I'm going to sell it. It's just a tad too short for comfort, and the bustline doesn't fit really well. How should I date it? I'd say pretty much around 1970?
