I have this amazing trapeze dress from the 60s or 70s with the cutest pom poms on the hem!

Also the large floral pattern is so beautiful! I have never heard of the label and its not in the labels section of this site. Wondering if anyone can help with this fabric type...
Its slightly textured, itchy. Like a burlap sack lol.

It really reminds me of Andy Warhols flowers too! Which i love! Wanted to share and ask if anyone has ever seen the label before?? Collegiana/
New york Paris

Thank you!

Almost all of the ads for and articles that mentioned Collegiana Blouses Inc. date from ca. 1938 to ca. 1968. I saw a single small reference to Collegiana Blouses in a 1938 paper and one or two from the 1940s, but by far the bulk of the information I found was in the 1950s and 1960s.

A 1962 ad gave this address for Collegiana Blouses: 132 W. 36 St., NYC and a small 1952 article noted: "Emanuel Schwartz, president, Collegiana Blouses Inc., sailed yesterday...for Paris where he will remain about 10 weeks to study new styles. While in Paris, he will make his headquarters at M. Leon, dress firm...which is affiliated with Collegiana in that it buys models, laces and furnishes the American firm with style information."

A short 1960 blurb about Collegiana stated: "Sheila Campbell has joined Collegiana Inc. as a designer...She is Collegiana's first fulltime designer."

agree with 60s on this, those little dingle balls were on swimsuit coverups, tablecloths, often paired with terrycloth, although if your is itchy, that doesn't make sense as terrycloth is usually soft. unless maybe someone starched it at some point?

cute as can be!
