1970s or 80s on this dress?

I'm a little unsure here with this....the hem is not original and the ILGWU tag would put it pre-80s so wondering what your thoughts are on this. It looks like a Maxi Dress/Hostess Gown that's been shortened from the 60s or early 70s but the pattern is throwing me off for some reason. It sort of reminds me of an Australian Aboriginal print or something Thai.

I agree it looks like a shortened 70s maxi dress. I can't see all the print, could it be star sign animals?
