1970s red and blue desert boots

There was a pair of desert boots made during the very early 1970s, maybe even 1969, that had a red top/vamp & tongue, and a blue heel/counter. They were the usual suede with crepe soles.

I thought those were Peter Max shoes, but can't find anything online referring to them by that designer.

Does anyone know who made those?

Can't answer your question directly, but I think Clark's and Hush Puppies were huge makers of desert boots back then. I wore the Hush Puppies a lot, and I think they made colored ones. I'm pretty sure I had blue suede ones, 'cuz I remember people commenting on my "blue suede shoes."

Could Peter Max have designed them for one of the companies for whom the desert boot was a specialty?

I had suede Peter Max desert boots, around 1972. I remember the tongue, top, toe cap, and heel were 3 or 4 different colors. I'm pretty sure the soles were hard leather, not crepe.

I loved Peter Max back then!
