1970s? Windbreaker With Lightning Zip and Pleated Back

I really see 80s with this jacket as well and I checked the tags to make sure it was made in Canada and it was - Those lighting zippers were used in Canada into the mid eighties - does it have a small white cut off tag mark on one of the seams? If it does this would've been a Canadian union label, dating pre 1984, if not it may still be pre 84, my guess is 82ish.
 
Early 80s is VERY hot right now - I wouldn't right it off just b/c it's an 80's peice :) It's still a cool jacket!
