Hello everyone! I'm brand new, and hoping for some guidance please?
I know next to nothing about true vintage clothing, but my mom and I were shopping at Goodwill in Tulsa last weekend, and we found this suede jacket and skirt outfit with Mario Valentino labels. I recognized the name, so we snapped it up, even though it fit neither of us! Here are some photos...
The outfit is completely unlined, and seems like it never was lined to begin with. The floral pattern is printed on the suede. Based on the shoulder details on the jacket, and the plastic zipper on the skirt, we guessed this outfit is from the 1980s. But looking at the Neiman-Marcus label examples in your lovely Label Resource guide, the Neiman label on this outfit seems closer to the one listed as being from the late 1960s? (Based on the slant on the M.) So, I'm really not sure.
Both the jacket and skirt has suede pockets, and the skirt has a 6" side slit on the right side.
I googled as much as I could on Mario Valentino and "printed floral suede" - and really the closest I've found are some old NY Times articles about the 1982 Mario Valentino Fall Milan show that said, "Versions of the prairie skirt were in flower-printed suede…" That collection was also designed by Giorgio Armani, apparently. I haven't been able to find photos of that collection though.

Can anyone tell me what era this outfit is from please? Could it be a version of the designs done by Armani for that 1982 Mario Valentino show by any chance?
Also, do you have any guidance on whether this is worth trying to sell? And how do I find someone to appraise it in the Tulsa, OK area? My mom & I haven't the faintest idea what to charge for this.
Thanks so much everyone! I appreciate any help! (I hope this posts correctly, so sorry if I messed anything up.)
