2 more dresses: frolicking deer and somber black

Please help with the date of these two dresses, so very different from one another and acquired from the same source as the six cotton day dresses I posted about a few days ago. I find the frolicking deer print unusual! Why would someone make a dress with that sort of print, lol? I'm thinking 40s on that one, yes?

Oh, I love the frolicking deer! Absolutely, yes to '40s. The second one looks '20s but it's hard to see what's going on with all the glorious black.

That was a terrific score you got there.

Maybe the print had something to do with the release of Bambi in 1942. The print is great!

Everybody has problems with that! Black and red are the most challenging colours to photograph well.
