Hello all :-)

well I am pretty set when it comes to dresses but now i am onto the coats and suits.. and I feel like I am learning all over again!!!

Any who I have NOOOOO CLUUUEEE when it comes to coats. but I hope to soon.. I have no reason for my guesses so please bare with me....

#1 I am just thinking 30s early by gut but no reason... I need date and color help with this one.. feels like rabbit fur that has yellowed dark teal color, velvet and mid calf length.. the length an sleeves are what made me think 30s but not from experience.. just a vibe I got.... Please tell me what clues you use to date this one.. thank you!

#2 is a suit kinda.. more like a wool skirt with matching fur lined HEAVY jacket... I was thinking 50s on this one... and what kind of fur is this... I swear it feels like the thick long haired cats! has nice hidden hook and eyes that have appear braided... which is why I thought 50s because I have a few items from 50s with same hooks... any way, also has hook and eyes on collar and shoulders to keep them in place...

thank you all and help is much appreciated!

Thank you so much nicole :-) i was thinking 20s on first one.. but I didnt want to get too excited lol! so i decided 30s was more likely :-)

Thank you as always!!!!

20's on the coat and the fur is ermine. On the suit - are you sure the jacket isn't inside out or reversible? The fur looks like mouton. See how the fur peeks out at the sleeve cuffs and at the front edge? That looks wrong. If you turn the jacket fur side out, and cuff the sleeves so the plaid peeks out, it might look better.

Well I can try but the way it is is correct for the lapes.. there are hooks on the collar tips and "eyes" on the shoulders to hold the lapels down... they are only on the plaid side... so unless the lapels are ment to tuck under that is the right way....

I know I think it makes it look od and homely too... but the lapels make it the only way.
