Hello everyone
Hope you're all having a nice start to fall! I love the chill that is slowly setting in! Perfect Coat weather soon! Which brings me to my quandary.
I recent picked up two tapestry coats. Both from different sources.
The first one I am fairly positive is mid to late 60s.
The second I am almost sure is also 60s but something about it seems a little off and I keep wondering if it is older.
OK so details.
Coat 1 - Shorter length (mid-thigh), heavy yellow gold Tapestry Fabric with black faux fur sleeve rimming, breasts, collar, and hem, metal toggle turn clasp front button closures, black satin feel lining (most likely synthetic) - I believe this one is mid to late 1960s
Coat 2 - Below the Knee Princess Cut finer weave Tapestry, attached scarf/muff (you can use the ends of the scarf as a muff, I have never seen this before, I find it really interesting and any additional information on this style will be greatly appreciated) Fur lined hem, and scarf/muff ends (I very seldom buy fur so I have no clue what type it is but this fur feels more real, I wouldn't rule out that it is faux though), Button front closures with cotton covered medium sized snaps, lined in what also feels synthetic.
Neither have tags or any union markings or fabric contents.
If any one knows more about their eras, possible fabrications, and that muff/scarf hybrid I would really appreciate it.
Thanks in advance,
Cat
